Re: twig chandelier - what do you make with the twigs rosy ?... Re: twig chandelier - my favortie way is to wet my wood, roots in kiddies pool, then shape them wet. be it nest form or hose shape while wet they will shape well.. then I pat them dry with old towels and put in van to dry. as here in Washington we don't have many dry days, that or near the vent for the dryer same works when wet you can also peel bark and use it to attatch twigs together.... Re: twig chandelier - Wow I took a look at your picture. It looks like all you need is for the fairies to come out to play !!!... Re: twig chandelier - Aaaahhh! Fishing line would have been good I'll remember that for next time!... Re: twig chandelier - doh. shoulda read the whole thread. ;)... Re: twig chandelier - Have you tried fishing line? My mom used to sculpt with honey-locus thorns (pointy, nasty, mean twigs with lots of branches), and she used fishing line and hot glue to hold everything together. I remember her taking lots of wraps with the fishing line, sort of weaving it through the thorns. to make flat forms with the main axes. Think of a raft made of logs. Twigs should be easier.... Help I Need More Applique - I am looking for applique for my line of pasties. I prefer wholesale or discount of course. My current supplier is no longer carrying all the colours I need so I need to source a new supplier. Does anyone know where to find applique like this: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=26589&page=1§ion_id=5099779&order= those are of course already in pasty form but it gives you the idea.
I am in Vancouver, BC but I don't mind ordering on line.
Thanks a bunch.

Re: making jewelry while pregnant? - sounds like you should just wash everything in soap and water before you work with it.... Re: making jewelry while pregnant? - i was pregnant with my middle child and taking painting and jewelry classes with no problems. And doing it at home also. I even made sure with my ob first. We have a lot of chemical plants down here in here in Louisiana and many of her patients work there with no problems. Use the typical precautions and you should do fine. If you are worried about the residue on your hands you could try latex/non latex "surgical" gloves.
I'd say the only thing you have to worry about is the baby becoming hooked on jewelry making and taking over all your supplies! lol... twig chandelier - I have been trying to make a chandelier out of twigs more of a lampshade with the twigs/ tree roots hanging down.My plan was to stick some glittery berries on . I am having real problems with attatching the twigs to a wire circle as they keep moving around! any hints? If anyone can give me a link or a photo of something simillar I would be greatful!... Re: making jewelry while pregnant? - yeah, i was just wondering because when i make jewelry i often notice a metal residue on my hands-particularly with stainless steel and silver wires. but i notice with gold and copper too. wearing it is fine, but i wondered if forming wire jewelry would be a bit too much?...
